Missing MDAC files

My Gateway computer came with Acrobat 8. I couldn't get word to convert text
files to pdf, so I decided to uninstall Acrobat 8. I purchased NitroPro
which converts files to pdf. Anyway, after uninstalling A8 and before
installing NitroPro I tried to open word and access files. When I did, I
received error message that microsoft data access components are not
installed. I have no idea what to do about that. I tried system restore to
get back A8, this did not work as when I then opened office programs, A8
would try to install, but I received error message that there are no install
files. So to continue my problems I installed NitroPro PDF to Text, Text to
PDF. Now when I open Microsoft Word, this works fine. Word opens and I can
convert doc files to PDF. My problem now is that everytime I try to open
Microsoft Access, Acrobat 8 tries to install. If I let things go, I finally
get message that there are no install files. If I hit cancel to install of
A8, Access opens and works fine. It is a pain to have to cancel A8 install
everytime I open Microsoft Access. Any suggestions on how to solve problem
would be appreciated? Thanks much!

If I need MDAC files, where do I get them???

I have now worked on my problem for 14 hours today. I use to be a fan of
microsoft, but I am beginning to see why people dislike it. I tried to
download both the files suggested above. First I had to use internet
explorer 7 because firefox wouldn't do. Then I tried validation methods 1
and 2. In both cases when I took the 10 minutes to download the necessary
files, entered the validation code, I was sent to a page that said "no
validation page".........So I am no better off, then I was when I asked for
help 4 hours ago. No need to answer further as in my experience of trying to
get help from microsoft forums (2 other times over the years), I have never
gotten help. If I can't figure it out myself, I wouldn't find a solution.
