missing menu bar

I have the same problem that was mentioned in an old post. Word X for
Mac. My "Edit" which is always after "File" has disappeared. This is
not a toolbar problem. So going to View Toolbars and resetting won't
help. This is a menu problem. I don't know how to get it back.

So you aren't missing the entire menu bar, just the Edit menu?

I don't know how that could have happened, but the best I can
suggest is that you go to Customize Toolbars and Menus, click
Reset, and hope for the best. Otherwise you may need to reinstall
Word. I've never dealt with missing items from the main Word menu,
so I'm not sure what else to try. I guess you could look in Word
Help for ideas.
