hi all i need help please i got this message but i do not
know what to do i cant uninstall to reinstall my office xp
please tell me what to do.. :(
-be fast- Thank you

messge i had received:

Windows Installer patch files (.MSP files) from previously
applied Office updates are missing from the
\Windows\Installer hidden directory on your computer. MSP
files are stored on your computer after update
installation completes because they need to be referenced
for future update operations. If the files are missing you
will not be able to apply Office updates. You may also be
unable to uninstall Office products as a result of the
same problem.

Ditto same problem. No help to be found with regard to
this problem yet.

Hope someone out there knows what to do :)

Thanx for the effort Chris. But even when I have attempted to repair XP Office with the CD it says that I have to verify that the patch is valid with the vendor. Vendor doesnt have a clue either. Utter disappointment as I cannot update XP Office nor fix the issue I am having with exporting files in Outlook. :(

cpadilla,
If you have your Windows OS installation disks, you can do a format/clean install of all. This is what I would do to rid myself of the problem...

cpadilla,
good to here that your original Office installation files were in the Windows registry and not corrupted/acessable to the reinstall. There have been many posts where to op could not reinstall without an os reformat as a solution...

That was my one of my "fears". So far XP has been more stable than 98 was for me. I would like to keep it that way. Some say you need to reinstall the OS every year or so. I dont know if that is true or not.
