missing new fonts

a few weeks back, I discovered a whole bunch of new available fonts to use in
the office suite (word, outlook, etc..)
I had a computer crash, and now after reinstalling (Windows 7, and office
2007) all of those new fonts are missing. (one example of a new/missing font
was Olive Oil)
Please tell me how to get them back.... All updates to office have already
been installed.

Where did those fonts come from, and what did you do with them?

If you downloaded them from somewhere, it's a good idea to store them
in a folder other than the Fonts folder, right-click on each one, and
choose Install. Then, if you need to reinstall Windows and your old
Fonts file gets replaced with the minimal one, you can simply go to
your collection of fonts and install the ones you want. (This puts a
_copy_ of them in your Fonts folder.)

That's the crazy part....I have no idea where they came from...I did not
download them from anywhere. I assumed they came from a windows or office
update.?

Hmm. I don't know what Olive Oil (or Oyl, like the Popeye character?)
is, but I don't have it, so if it comes with Windows, it must have
come with Windows 7 -- or, does anyone else have access to your
computer?

It's not _supposed_ to be possible to extract fonts from pdf's with
embedded fonts, but is that maybe the source?

Olive Oil is not a Microsoft sourced font. It could be a font that came with
some other product that you installed.

If the font is actually Antique Olive rather than Olive Oil, then it (and
many other useful fonts) may have come from the install CD for an HP
printer.
