missing .nk2 file

My automatic completion option in Office 2003 hasn't worked correctly for
some time. I was directed by the help file to turn on view hidden files,
search for the *.nk2 file, delete it. I'd done that some time back to resolve
a problem.

Now I find there's no .nk2 file on my computer.

I've turned off the suggest names option, exited Outlook, and then turned it
on again, re-exited and restarted again, hoping to force it to generate the
file. But no .nk2 file and no working automatic competion

Now what?

If you turned off the feature, why would you expect Outlook to generate an
NK2 file?

I don;'t recall if tuning it off deletes an existing NK2, but a new one will
not be created until you send messages and close outlook.
