Hi:

We have the XP-Office for students package. I downloaded and installed the
MaxCount software from M$. I did this before really getting into Excel (we
have Lotus 123 on another machine so don't NEED Excel.)

Anyway, the Max's Sandbox is so simple that it even annoys my 9 yo home
school girl.

I have been running the Excel tutorial to get me up to speed so I can help
my daughter learn a REAL spreadsheet (she already enjoys PowerPoint.)

But I can't get the screen I get from running Excel directly to match the
screen in the lessons.

In particular I am missing the little window that less your the name of the
currently active cell AND the edit window for changing that cell AND the
checkmark which is used in place of the ENTER key.

I have gone into View and Tool Options, right clicked everyplace, etc. I
just can find that stuff.

Obviously I am missing something. What is it?

EMWTK

Thanks,

jlg

I don't know about MaxCount software, but in Excel, choose
View>Formula Bar
and the Formula Bar should reappear
