missing personal folder

on a xp box the user was using pop3 i changed the
computer name and i also added him to the domain. i know
cannot find is personal folder anywhere on the machine
does changing the computer delete the profile and the
personal folder
i have searched for *.pst on local drive and did not find
aything

any ideas or am i screwed

The profile information should still be there, log on as Administrator and
look under Documents and Settings/user profile name. Also the pst is hidden
from searches unless explicitly set from Control Panel > Folder Options >
View > Check show hidden files and folders, and then specified from the
Advanced search options.

I never known joining a machine to a Domain that results in the lost of
profile, while you cannot use it any more the information should still be
there.
