missing pg # in master footer

in ppt 2007, on the 'blank' master, i added the page number to the middle box
in the footer, and a url in the right box. i only want this to appear in
slides based on the 'blank' master. it indicates that the blank master is
being used by slides 1 and 2, but the footer isn't appearing. i'm stuck.

This is a tricky one - I've encountered it myself.

To show the slide number on your slides, do the following:
1. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Slide Number.
2. In the Header and Footer dialog box, on the slide tab, under "Include on
slide," check the box next to Slide Number.
