Missing Quick Style in Word 2007?

When I click on the "Change style" button and then the "Style Set" tab, I
only have three options: 1. Reset to Quick Styles from Template, 2. Reset
document quick styles, and 3. Save as quick styles set. I don't see the
gallery of quick style choices, such as modern or formal, that the tutorials
talk about. I've looked everywhere in the styles tab, but I can't find any
of these whatsoever. Am I totally missing something?

I just started using Word, so this is all a bit new to me.
