Missing Registry information error message

I recently scanned my computer for viruses. After doing
so, I noticed that none of my Access-based applications
would run.I'm using Access 2000. Each time application
opens, then this message appears: "Required registry
information is missing and this application cannot run.
Please run setup to correct this problem." I've
reinstalled Office, but the same message appears. I went
as far as following the solutions given at Microsoft
support center. But I still get the error message.
Interestingly, I have no problem running my Access-based
applications on an adjacent computer, except the one on my
desk. PLEASE HELP, ALL YOU ACCESS GURUS!
