I'm not really sure if I should post this in the Project Server or
SharePoint group but here goes:

Development Environment:
When viewing site seach results on SharePoint (not a project workspace but
just a regular SharePoint site in another site collection on the same
server), there is a link to "Search for <search word or phrase> on
ProjectServer" displayed to the user. The link does not work in my
development environment. When I click the link I get the following:

Server Error in '/ProjectServer' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its
dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is
temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that
it is spelled correctly.

Requested Url: /ProjectServer/_vti_bin/portalapi.aspx

Production Environment:
There is no such link displayed in the search results.

Where is this setting controled? Why do I see it in my development
environment but not in production? Why does the link in my development
environment not work? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Okay, if my answer doesn't work, please repost, because if people see an
snswer to a question, they assume it was answered...

Did you totlally reinstall ProjectServer and SharePoint or copy the
production system to the development system? If you copied stuff over, your
pointers are still pointing to production while others are pointing to the
development side.

So either (a) create the development site from scratch using totally
different service accounts from production; or, there are several KB
articles, such as:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=894164

Hope that helps... (If not, repost...)

It is my understanding that they did the following:

1. On the first new server they installed SQL 2000
2. On the second new server they installed SharePoint and Project Server
3. They then copied the data from SharePoint to the new database server but
they did not copy the Project Server data

I'll look at the KB solution and see if I can find my answers there.
Thanks!
