Missing Section

[Problem finding a section]

I renamed a section to Daily then proceeded to fill out a page with the date
- 4/2/05. Then closed system.

When I reopened system 5 hours later - the daily section was no place to be
found. Looked in back-ups and delted folders as well.

So I decided to create a new section called Daily - the system says I can't
use that name because it was already in use.

Any ideas how I can find Daily - or has it just crashed and burned.

Have you tried doing a search for it? Search your entire Notebook.

Just for avoidance of doubt, I think Chris was suggesting that you use
Windows Search, not OneNote Search. If I recall correctly OneNote
Search doesn't find words used only in Section titles.

If you search for Daily.one in the Files & Folders option then you
ought to be able to find it. My assumption is that it is not lost,
merely mislaid!

I think chris did mean the onenote search, but of course, as you suggest,
the section is a ".one" file. And folders are folders in the my notebook, in
my documents... and the notes within the .one files are in the .one files.
So if you find the daily.one file in "my notebook" you most likely can
recover the data by opening it. Or if nothing was in it to recover, delete
the file and start over.
