Hi,
I have a user who is complaining of missing items in his sent folder. We are
using Outlook 2003 & Exchange 2003, no one else in the company is reporting
this problem, although they may not have noticed if they are, as this user
seems to use his sent items a lot, either to send the same email more than
once (uses the re-send button), or to confirm that he actually sent the email.
Apparently on Friday he sent an email to someone at 9am, a couple of minutes
later he got an out of office reply, and so wanted to re-send the email to
the recipients home address, but he couldn't find the original email in the
sent items folder. I've had a look, and done an advanced search on his
mailbox, but the email doesn't exist. I've checked exchange message tracking,
and the email was sent, (which we knew anyway as he had the out of office
reply), I've checked his setup and 'save copies of items in sent folder' is
enabled, also 'In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original
message' is disabled, archiving is also disabled, and he has no filters or
rules that might delete any emails.
This has happened a few times previously, and before I deleted his
filters/rules assuming that was causing the problem.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem? I'm at a loss as to why this
could be happening now!
Many thanks
Ben
