I’ve got a user with Outlook 2007, fully patched, connected to an Exchange
2003 SP2 server. The user’s contact list has about 300 contacts in it.
Occasionally when he goes to lookup a contact that he hasn’t used in a while,
a contact is missing from the list/view. If he goes to add the contact,
right-clicking the email address in an email and selecting Add to Contacts,
Outlook will prompt him that the contact already exists and asks if he wants
to merge the info. Regardless of whether you say yes or no, the contact will
then appear in the Contacts folder and the item count in the left corner of
the status bar increments by one. I’ve deleted his Outlook profile and
created a new one from scratch, resync’ing with the server, but no joy there.
I've checked to see if the contact is located in another folder or address
book, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
