Missing task link in outlook

Rob

I am using the beta 2 version of both Outlook and OneNote and the linking
feature in onenote does not seem to work properly. When I use the follow-up
flag in OneNote, a task is created in Outlook, however, the link in the body
of the task is not created. The task title is in the body, but not the link.
When I first loaded the beta version I kept the prior version of both Office
(2003) and OneNote on my computer for a few weeks, but I did not use them.
Also I have reloaded the Beta 2 of both Office and OneNote after removing the
2003 versions. Anything I can do to make the link appear in the Outlook
task??
Thanks in Advance, Rob

I'd remove ON 2007, reboot and reinstall it. Your settings and notebooks
won't be affected by this.
I presume you are running Outlook 2007 now? The Outlook-OneNote linking
doesn't work with Outlook 2003 in Beta 2.

Hi Patrick, I took your suggestion and it worked the first time that I used
the follow-up flag in OneNote. (It created a link in the Outlook task)
however, in OneNote I right-clicked and selected "Delete Outlook task". The
task was deleted, but I was not able to generate any more links. I tried
creating a link from other OneNote pages, but it is back to only creating a
task and the name in the body of the task, but no link....it seems like a
very strange result. By the way, I am running Outlook 2007.

Thanks, Rob

I have the same problem, but using OL2003. Sometimes the link shows in
the task's notes, other times just the subject. I can't seem to find a
pattern.

I think there may be remnants of Office 12 still in my registry, how can I
remove and get a clean install of 2007 Beta?

This is a known bug, and has been fixed in the recent builds.

Thanks! If I re-download the Beta will the fix be present, or do I have to
wait for the production-release for fix?

You will have to wait until the next beta version is released. When that
will happen is not known.
