Missing Tasks for Approval

A user had 176 tasks to approve and was trying to access the system on a
wireless connection - since it was taking too long for the approval screen to
come up on the wireless connection, I logged in as her from the office and
exported the list of 176 tasks to excel from the Task Update screen.

I sent her the list, She asked me to approve all but two tasks.

I logged in as her today and it still says on the reminder home page that
there are 176 tasks to approve but when I select to link to access the tasks
- they are not there - the Task Update window is empty with the message that
displays if there are no tasks to approve. I checked the Applied Requests
and Errors and the tasks are not in there. The Project Plan has not been
updated.

Where could the tasks have gone and why would the reminder web part say
there are 176 tasks to approve and they are not there?

I have a print out in excel of what was there so I could update the project
plan directly but her reminder web part still says there are 176 tasks there
