Missing text boxes on template

Works 8.5 was preinstalled on my new computer. HP has not been able to help.

When I open an envelope template there are no text boxes. The cursor is in
the upper left corner as on a word processor page. When I type the first
line of a return address & press enter a new page is created & the cursor
jumps to the upper left corner of the new page. A new page is created each
time the enter key is pressed.

I used the HP Application Recovery but that didn't help.

Sorry, you’ve landed in a MacWord group (not your fault, the interface
is *very* badly designed).

But Word of course is not the same as Works, and so I'm afraid most of
the people on this group will have no clue.

Go back to where you selected a group and look harder for an entry with
Works in the name.

Drill down from English to find the Works groups.

Thank you for redirection me. In the seemingly never ending list of topics I
guess when I saw Word I read it Works. I have reposted.
