Missing text when sending an attachment

I can create an email with text in the body and an attachment. Save it as a
draft, open the draft and everything appears normal. I then send the email.
The recepient only receives the attachment. I then check the sent items
folder and only the attachment appears, no text. This does not happen all of
the time. I am using Outlook 2003 with Exchange server 2003. I am not using
word as the editor.
