Missing the CD Key

How can I install my Microsoft Office discs, if I don't have the CD Key
because I'm missing the case? I recently had a virus on the computer and had
to re-install everything. When I went to reinstall Microsoft Office, it won't
let me because I don't have the CD Key which is located on the yellow sticker
on the back of the case. I dont have that case anymore! I purchased Office
legitimately through college, but somewhere during 3 moves, the case is
lost/broken/misplaced. I NEED to do work on WORD!!!!!! What do I do?

1) If your release of Office is OEM (that is, it was installed at the
factory by the company who sold you the computer), you will have to
contact the ones who sold you the computer, since Microsoft provides
no support but user forums for OEM software.

2) If your release of Office is a Retail release (that is, if you
bought it off the shelf, and it came in official Microsoft packaging),
you can contact Microsoft for a replacement Key if that particular
release is still supported by Microsoft.

Call Microsoft at this number to begin your quest:

If it is a retail version contact Microsoft at (800) 936-5700 or if
outside the US see this site: http://microsoft.com/worldwide

If the software came preinstalled on your PC (OEM version) then you'll
need to contact the manufacturer for a replacement key.

If the OEM will not provide you with a replacement key contact
Microsoft and explain the problem to them. It is my understanding they
will generate a new key however you could incur a nominal fee for this
service.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
