.mix file extension

I have a picture that, for some reason, has a .mix file extension. When I
select the image to view/open it, it opens up a ton of pictures, none of
which are the one on the thumbnail. Anyone have any ideas?

..mix files were from Picture It!, which is no longer produced. I'm not sure
why you're getting multiple thumbnails tho.

What program is opening the .mix file?

I'm familiar with .mix files that were created by
Microsoft PhotoDraw and/or Microsoft Picture It!.

If you open a multi-layer .mix file in a compatible
program...you will see all the objects that are
included in the file.

More info on .mix:
