Dear Colleagues,
I am creating a document that requires outline numbering, sometimes
with headings and sometimes with normal text only. For example:
1 Heading 1
2 Heading 1
2.1 Heading 2
2.1.1 lorum ipsum blah blah blah
2.1.2 lorum ipsum blah blah blah
2.2 Heading 2
2.2.1 Heading 3
2.2.1 Heading 3
3 Heading 1
3.1 lorum ipsum blah blah blah
3.1.1 Heading 3
3.1.2 Heading 3
3.2 lorum ipsum blah blah blah
3.3 lorum ipsum blah blah blah
4 lorum ipsum blah blah blah
4.1 lorum ipsum blah blah blah
4.1.1 lorum ipsum blah blah blah
Hence, when i insert a Table of Contents at the beginning of the
document, only the Heading entries will be rendered into it.
Is this possible in Word? Please feel at liberty to tell me if I am
asking a stupid question. My gut feeling is that the existing template
would require a standard and consistent outline numbering format, set
globally for the entire document, and that the mixing of styles is
un-Word-like. Is that correct or is there a way to implement what I
need?
Thank you.
