Mixing two MSO licenses

Hello,

My client has two MSO licenses: Small Business package and another larger.
Parts or all of the Small Business license is already installed on the PC.
Because Powerpoint is missing from Small Business, my client wants me to
install Powerpoint from the larger one. Is it possible to mix two different
licenses into the same PC?
How does the new license react on the SB installation. If I select PPT only
from the new package, will the SB Word, Excel and whatever else be deleted?
Should I do better reinstalling everything from the larger license. But what
if SB installation contains something already in use in that PC and that
this something is missing from the larger one?

Hi Håkan,

The installation and activation of any part of a licensed Office package uses the full license. You didn't mention if both
licenses are for the same version (i.e. 2003 or 2007). While you can mix two products from the same series in the same language
edition there's no real advantage to it if the 'larger' product contains all of the needed products. It can create some complexity
later on if something should go 'wrong' and need fixing/reinstalling.

Uninstalling generally won't remove any documents or settings, although it's always advised to backup before any significant update
or replacement of software on a PC.

Hi Håkan,

Checking to see what the version series are would be an important bit of information. If they're pre Office 2007 make sure they're
both the same language base as well. If they're not the same product series there are other considerations for installing multiple
year/versioned Office products.

I'm not quite sure about the versions, I suppose both are 2003. >>
