I have been having an ongoing battle with MOA 2008 and Ebay. I can't get it
to work for me. Below is the final email from the Partner newsgroup. They
suggested I post my experience here. The first paragrapgh is their
suggestion.( (e-mail address removed) ("Shane Nelson (MSFT). The second is
my reply.
We have been able to track down why you are receiving this error message.
You will get this message if you have setup a eBay buyers account, but have
not associated the eBay ID with a payment method. If you try to sign up for
the first time go through the "Online Sales -Setup to Sell Online" menu from
Office Accounting. This path will associate your WLID with an eBay account.
If you don't have an existing eBay account then eBay will give you the option
to register for a new account. When registering, you should associate a
PayPal or a credit card account which then allows the Wizard to see this as a
"seller" account. If you want to use an existing eBay account, make sure that
it has a PayPal account or a Credit Card account associated with it first
before doing the Online Sales setup.
I did a bit of digging on the Ebay site. I've come to the conclusion that
because I haven't opened a eBay store that is the likely culprit. I was
wanting to sell online, but at every turn everyone wants money from me;
monthly no less. It's disheartening to learn that when you have no money to
do these things, that is what everyone wants. I don't have the capital at
this juncture to start selling online. I thought it would be a simple matter
to sell some stuff online and grow to the point of being able to afford an
online presence. Alas it shall not be. Another dream of mine dashed in the
mire of the greed of those who are more fortunate. I want to be one of those
to have a profitable online presence, but every time I try there is a
roadblock already in place. I am existing only by the seat of my pants and
the cloth is already thin. Where is my economic stimulus? It's destined for
those who already do not need stimulating. Such are the times we live in.
