Mobile phone icon when pasting in Word?

Hi everyone.

I have some customers that have a strange problem when pasting into Word.

If you copy a text, start Word and past the text you just copied, instead of
the text you will get a small mobile phone icon. If you do the same
operation, but start work before you copy the text, it works fine.

I did some searching on the net and found out that it has to do with
bluetooth adapters. But I choulden't find any solution to the problem. Is
there any one that know what to do to be able to fix it?

Hi Johan

It sounds like you have an add-in that is using the Office clipboard to
store a toolbar icon. Not much you can do about this is you need the add-in,
but you might want to see if you can find a culprit you could live without.

You could start by looking under Tools > Templates and Add-ins to see what
global templates are being loaded on startup. These templates will probably
be found in your Word startup folder (you can find the location for that by
looking under Tools > Options File locations tab) or possibly in the Office
startup folder (somewhere down the Program Files hierarchy. You can prevent
a global template from loading automatically by moving it somewhere else.

Judging from a previous thread in this NG, the problem may derive from
having Bluetooth drivers installed.

One user writes:

"After uninstalling/reinstalling apps, and spending way too much time on
the line with Microsoft (to no avail), I finally solved my issue. The
icon was embedded by the software provided for the Belkin F8T001
Bluetooth USB Adapter. Once uninstalled, I no longer had the issue."

Just as I wrote in my first post. I know that it has to do with bluetooth,
but my question was if there is any other solution then to de-install the
bluetooth suite to fix the problem. That realy isen't an option in this
case, since the users need to have bluetooth installed on there computers.

Oops, sorry. I suspect that what you can find by Googling is better than
anything we'll be able to tell you here, as this seems to be a largely
undocumented issue (searching the MSKB for "Bluetooth paste" gives no hits).
I would guess that the only solution will be to start Word before pasting.
The Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word has a similar effect, clearing the
Clipboard at Word startup, and the only solution is to uninstall it.
