MobileMe Email will not work with Entourage.

I read that mobileme is supposed to be a default account. I do not have it in my Entourage. I spent hours trying to configure Entourage to use my mobileme email. Always fails.

It's a default type of account in Mail.
Simply use it as an IMAP account in Entourage.
IMAP server: mail.me.com
SMTP server: smtp.me.com

I suspect you need to connect through SSL.

I don't understand what this has to do with MobileMe email.

Please start your own thread describing your problem from now on.

In your place, I would try the following:
Drag the following files to your desktop:
~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Entourage.plist
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Entourage.prefs.plist
(where ~ represents your home directory)
Restart your Mac
Try to access the preferences in Entourage to see if that works. If so, you
will have to reset your preferences in Entourage; you can then delete the
two files you dragged to the desktop.

One word of warning: the files I named above are the preference files for
Entourage 2004. The Entourage 2008 preference files may have different
names. Perhaps one of the Entourage 2008 users who frequents this newsgroup
can offer some more specific help.

Jean, comme le dit Ed, je soupçonne qu'il y ait une méchante corruption
dans les préférences,
Si ça ne suffit pas à régler le soucis, il faudra sans doute relancer
Entourage en pressant la touche Option pour reconstruire l'identité.


Au passage, Entourage est parfaitement à jour ?? En version 12.1.5 ??

As Ed mentioned, always start your own thread.

Let's do a test.

1) Under Entourage in the Menu bar, select Switch Identity
2) Click on the New button and create a new test Identity
3) no need to enter account info for the test
4) Select Preferences. Does it work?

If yes, then you have database corruption. You can try rebuilding.

If no, then it could be a problem in your User's folder.

Let me know what you find in the testing.

Make a duplicate in the Finder first as additional backup. A rebuild does
make a duplicate, but sometimes in the process the original and backup get
merged resulting in total disaster. It's rare but it happens.
