Modified documents and page references

Hi,
I'm in the process of working on exams that currently have
two booklets. One is a reader and the other is a question
booklet. The question booklet often refers the pupil to a
paragraph or lines on a particular PAGE of the reader.

If I choose to select all the text and make it bigger in
these documents which causes pages to alter, is there any
way that I can have the page references in the question
booklet alter themselves.

I have a feeling that it is to do with table of contents,
but the brain isn't working well enough to figure it out.
Any help much appreciated.

You need to insert a bookmark on the page you want to reference, then insert
a cross-reference to the page number of the bookmark. Although this may not
update automatically, it will update at print time provided you have "Update
fields" checked on the Print tab of Tools | Options.

Hi Paul,

This can be done, but it is a little bit complicated. I think
I have an article in the Numbering section of my website that
explains how to have continuous page numbering across
documents; it uses the same principle you need:
- insert a Page field into the document you need the page
reference from. Format it. Bookmark it.
- insert the IncludeText field to reference the
information in the second document
