modify recurrring appointment as single occurrence

Can anyone tell me how to check that from CalenmdarItemChanged event
handler?

The appointment item's IsRecurring property is still true, RecurrencePattern
is till there with RecurrenceType and PatternEndDate, same as original
series. I don't see what is changed/different.

What is RecurrenceState for?

If an instance of a recurring appointment was changed that instance will be
in the Exceptions collection. Any changed property on the instance could
cause it to become an exception, it isn't just changing the start or end
date.

As the Object Browser shows, RecurrenceState is a property that is of type
OlRecurrenceState. It can be one of those enumeration values.
