Here is an example data table, although the real data involves 20+ pairs of values and labels (not all going in the same chart, but some will be in 3d charts).
Trt value label
1 74.5 AB
2 71.7 BC
3 75.2 A
4 71.9 BC
5 71.0 C
6 67.9 D
7 65.8 D
8 77.6 A
Levels not connected by same letter are significantly different.
I've been trying to find a way to get excel to generate a chart with the Treatments (trt) across the X-axis and the labels attached to the appropriate column. So far the only way I've found to make this work is to have either the X-axis labels or the values appear and then edit them individually by hand. Less than ideal and hoping for suggestions
My next problem is trying to move all of the data labels together since the default position is not ideal. Default places the labels on top of the column, but if I've got a 3D chart it quickly becomes confusing which labels go with which columns. I've found the best location to avoid confusion is to place the labels within the column in the upper Right-hand corner of the column. That way the color over which the label appears is the color of the correct column. However, it appears as though the only way to move the data labels is one at a time, as opposed to all 8 as a single object. Hopefully I'm mistaken and someone can suggest a way to do what I describe above.
The previous issue would be less of a problem if when I clicked on the label box and dragged, I actually moved the box with the label inside it. Instead I move a ridiculously-pale, yellow, dashed, outline of the box that has virtually zero contrast with anything. since I can't really see what I'm moving when I move it I can not consistently get the box in the same place on each column and the results look like hell if I try to spend any less than 10 min per column. Is their anyway to change the color of the outline box to something I can actually see consistently. Or even better, would it be possible to move the box itself so I can see where the object will be when I let off of the mouse?
