Modifying Enterprise Outline Code Lookup Values

Does anyone know the impact of modifying, deleting, restructuring an
enterprise outline code project level lookup values? I currently use an
enterprise outline code to define organizational data and one level in the
structure group had a complete reorg. Some orgs changed names, some were
removed and new levels were created. What happens to the existing values
associated with projects in progress? I know people who have saved fitlers
on these values will need to make updates. Has anyone done a massive change
to list values before and what problems did you have?

Thanks!

Changing the outline codes will impact the following:

1) Reports: use outline codes for categorization and roll-up
2) Views: same as above

Also the outline codes are likely to be used for filters that determine what
informtion is displayed in reports and views... so it could change or break
the views and reports altogether.

You might want to copy a few projects to a test environment and test to
ensure that the reports and views still work

If you change the outline code structure, your project managers will need to
do the following:

1. Open an enterprise project
2. Click Project - Project Information
3. Select the new outline code value for their project
4. Click OK
5. Save the project
6. Click Collaborate - Publish - All Information
7. Repeat steps #1-6 for each project that they manage

They will need to perform these steps for every project before the OLAP cube
reubuilds. The next time the system rebuilds the OLAP cube, it will process
the new outline code information into any existing Portfolio Analyzer views.
Hope this helps.
