modifying menu items

Aaron

I have a need to remove an item from the menu drop downs.
Specifically, in Word 2002, on the insert menu is date
and time. I either need to disable this option completley
or remove it from the menu.

any ideas?

thanks

Araron,

Right click anywhere in an unused portion of the menu bar
and select customize. Open the Insert menu and drag it
off.

Thanks,
Ive tried that. I am able to drag the date and time item
TO the menubar i.e between the font and type size icons,
but it will not allow me to discard the date and time
selection itself from that area or the menu bar.

Aaron,

Press CTRL+ALT+the hyphen key. This activates the
destroyer (a heavy bold hyphen). With the destroyer,
click insert and then date and time. Be careful as this
is indiscriminate. Hit ESC to terminate the destroyer.
