Modifying Styles - World 2001

J

Joan McDonald

I am having trouble modifying styles in Word 2001 so the style for the
following paragraph is something other than Normal. I modify an
existing style and select the style for the following paragraph as usual.
I click OK and select the ORGANIZER, click on the modified style and
copy it to the global template which is Normal.

It all works fine in the document that was open when the change was
made. However, if I select a new document and use the style it does
not work - the style for the following paragraph is changed to Normal.

The same thing occurs if I create the style from scratch.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks
Joan

When you modify the style, be sure to check "add to template" (but not
"automatically update". This should make the changes hold for all documents
from then on, and you shouldn't need to bother with copying the modified
style via the Organizer at all.
