I have a template I would like to modify. When I try to get in to modify the
instructional text, the entire text block highlights and acts as if it is
protected. How can I modify instructional text embedded in a template?

Which applicaiton are you talking about here? Word? Excel? PowerPoint?
Something else?

Which version? 2003? 2007? Something else?

Sorry about that! I'm working in Word 2003.

In fact since sending my request I've received help from a colleague and
discovered the answer.

So for others that are looking for this answer, you can't just click your
cursor where you want to make changes. You have to move the cursor with the
arrow keys to the point where you want to edit and then go about adding or
removing the text necessary.

Happy templating!
