A
Astro Boy
We’re trying to modify the Project Workspace template, and we’re running into
some problems. I’m wondering if anyone else hads run across this same problem
and, if so, have you figured out how to resolve it without resorting to
digging into the VB code.
We started with an existing Project Workspace – a site linked to an existing
project, call it “Project X†- and made modifications to it (added some
folders to the document library, fields to the Issues list, etc). We saved
the modified workspace as an .stp file, used stsadm to add the template on
the WSS server, did an IIS restart, and selected the new template in PWA –
just the way you’d do in Project 2003. Everything seemed fine.
We ran into a problem when we published our first project. The WSS site
creation for our new project failed in the Project queue with an error
message indicating the site was already linked to another project. It seems
the modified template is still linked to Project X.
According to the documentation we’ve found, we need to use Visual Studio to
break this link. This seems crazy.
Has anyone else seen this happen? If so, do you know of a less messy fix for
it?
Please let me know if you need additional info, and thanks for any help you
can provide!
