the user alerts within sharepoint do not meet my needs and i was wondering if
there was a set of code that a non programer could use to make it work a
little better.
I have a sharepoint document library that has an infopath form template
published to it.
I would like to be able to set a user alert that would alert only the
creator of that file of any changes made to that file or list item. the same
would go for a standard list that would include a lookup by username column.
example would be a list that includes a lookup column, when a new entry is
made in the list the creator would specify someone to that entry, by doing
so, the user that appeared in the entry under the lookup column only would
receive an email stating that they have a new item to look at, when the
assigned person made the changes, the creator only would be made aware via
email of the changes made.
I hope this is a good enough example of what i am looking for, and if such a
beast exists in the sharepoint world.
