monat and year in duration in project and gantt graphs instead of

Hi, I've set up a project 2007 containing several tasks with different
duration (or start and end dates). I've entered them as months or years, but
project always converts the duration to be displayed as days (which is not
feasible in our long term project). Furthermore, I used Visio 2007 to import
a project in a Gantt chart using the Gannt wizard. Works great, but
unfortunately, the duration is displayed in days again.... How to change it
to months or years in both project and visio gantt?? Thanks!! Franz

Franz12,
I don't know if this changed with Project 2007 but in earlier versions
of Project, if the user enters a duration in something other than the
default, the Duration field will show the value as entered. In other
words, if you enter 2 w or 12 mon, those values will appear that way in
the Duration field. If however, you are entering start and finish dates
directly, first you are defeating the scheduling engine of Project, and
second, the resulting duration will always default to the setting under
Tools/Options/Schedule tab.
