monitor becomes black

My monitor becomes black for a second of two. Somtimes it
freeses and for seconds you cannot move your sreene or
mouse (when for exaple I use MS Word or Excel).
What is happening??

Try updating your video drivers or see about replacing the monitor. How old
is the monitor?
