More 11.2.6 Update Woes...

Guy Kudlemyer

Hello:

Thanks to all who offered help on my original post, "11.2.6 Update...?"

I've given all of the suggestions a try. However, each time I try to
download it, I am now getting the following dialog box:

"The connection to the update server was interrupted. The server might be
too busy, or there might be a problem with your network connection. Wait a
few minutes, and then try again."

1--No, the connection was NOT interrupted. It never connected.
2--No, there is no problem with my network connection--the problem is with
my inability to connect and download.
3--I've "waited a few minutes and tried again" to the tune of going on 48
hours now...

I've re-booted the Mac, and re-initialized the modem. I'm having no problems
getting to any other web sites or download sites.

Can anyone offer any further suggestions?

(And Microsoft has the balls to wonder why I own a Mac instead of one of
their XP abominations...)

It sounds to me like some kind of ISP problem, rather than a "Mac vs
Windows" problem. Maybe the other sites you CAN get are loading from
the cache?

That said, I'm a user, not an expert...

Is your firewall up on either your Mac or your router (if you're using
one)? If so, you might try turning it off.

Any intrusion detection SW installed? Might try turning that off as
well.

SOLVED!!
I was having same problem as Guy.
Followed the link below, read the requirements, realized I tried to auto
update with Entourage open!!

So closed entourage (and all other office programs) and it's done!!

THANKS!!!!!!
