More Files Tool Permissions Problems

Besides the permissions problems I posted here:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...56F4-C0D4-D4DB-2249A9A182A6&lang=en&cr=US&p=1

I am still having problems. After having changed the permissions for the
Files Tool at the tool level, I then added a new folder and checked its
permissions. The new folder DID NOT INHERIT the permissions that had been
set at the tool level.

Is there anyway around this? This is a serious design flaw if there isn't
some correction somewhere.

By the way, this is for version 3.1.

I would appreciate any help, especially help from Microsoft.

Thanks.

Well, I found out on another forum of Groove Developers that the Groove Files
Tool will not allow the setting of global permissions different from what's
there. And, there is no way to highlight a bunch of files and change the
permissions in one fell swoop.

The division of our company that has most recently come online with Groove
needs forced revision control in the Files Tools. I thought I had it set
globally, but it didn't work. This is a MAJOR problem for us. Actively
looking at other alternatives. Already found two Groove alternatives on
other platforms. We might be saying 'bye' to Microsoft. We'll see.
