More note flags?

Is it possible to add more note flags than the 25 that are there by
default?

Thanks,

Not directly, but you can cheat....

When you change a note flag, any notes flagged with that flag don't change.
So, if you need more than 25, think in sets of note flags. Reserve a few for
general use (I tend to keep the top 10 for this). Now, go set up the set you
want to use. For each flag, pick a name based on the project and the flag's
meaning. Set up the flag and a background or font color. When you are ready
to change projects, change the appropriate flags to a different name and
background or font color. When you sort, the flags will sort by the name
assigned when the flag was created.

Does that make sense? If not, let me know. I can provide an example.

Perfectly. If understand correctly, I can have 25 active flags but
previous flags that have been changed are still there in the Note Flag
Summary. If I change flag 25 to a with a new label and new
characteristics, the old flag 25 still exists wherever it is already
present. Correct?

As I understand it yes. I haven't really stress tested this feature, but
have had about 50 different flags in my notes at one time.

One thing I didn't mention: If you do a Note Flags Summary and sort it by
flag, the flags that aren't currently active will end up in the "undefined"
section. However, within that section they will be sorted by flag.

If the type of notes that you are taking require that you need more flags or
more flexibilty during usage of flags (like deleting a flag from the
summary) , why don't you just use a program that has more flag features and
allows 1000 flags like Evolution from http://www.tabletevolution.com.

Then you can use Onenote for all the work where flags are not important and
Evolution for notes that need to have attached flags.

I think OneNote will be more than adequate for my needs for now.

I'm probably not the first to suggest this, but on a related note, I just
wanted to mention that it would be really nice to be able to create note
flags with custom images. For example, I use both "maybe?" and "question"
flags, but the only appropriate image is the purple question mark, and I
can't visually differentiate between them. So, flexibility there would be
nice.
