More note taking colors

I'd like to see more note taking colors. Sometimes I need 5, 10, possibly
even 15 to really make something stand out when I'm annotating complex
information (like detailed anatomical images - I'm in med school). There
need to be more colors than just black, blue, red, and green.

Other colors (40 of then, in fact!) exist. The
limitation you're seeing is that you have to modify one
of the pen choices to get to those other colors, which
I'll grant may not be a quickly accessible solution when
trying to take notes. On the Standard toolbar, there is
the Pen bropdown button. Use the "Customize Current Pen"
item from that button's menu.

Remember that if you customize the other pen types on the
Pens toolbar, you can get up to 12 of the same type of
pen in different colors. You can convert Ink written
with the four highlighter pens to text just as you can
Ink written with the other 8 preset pens.

While it's true you can change the color in the way you describe, it is very
cumbersom. A also lose access to pen types if I truly want instant access
to, say 12 different colors of pens. I have to give up thicker tips or
highlighting. One of the best features of a note taking software solution
*should* be the ability to easily and quickly change pen colors - something
that isn't easily accomplished with pens and paper.

I don't disagree, but I imagine the design decision (in keeping with the
whole "paper and pen" analogy) was that people don't normally sit at
their desk with a 64-color crayola box to use to take notes ;)

May be not, but I have a set of 18 scissors and a wide variety of markers on
my desk. (Not to mention a basket of crayons in the car)

Kathy,

18 scissors!!!? That must be 9 pairs of scissors? :)

I know I could regret asking this, but why? :)

I'm a sometime scrapbooker and a longtime Girl Scout volunteer. The scissors
all have different edges to their blades, so they make shaped cuts.
(Besides, I can never find a regular pair when I need one - they are usually
hidden in Bruce's (hubby's) solar cooking stuff..)

So, are you sorry you asked? :)

Kathy,

:) ... Well, now I am better informed.

The reason I feared asking was that I was just *sure* that a mere male
would get the blame, somehow. <grin/> And it was your husband! :)

Now why is it that husbands are the cause of all troubles? :) [Or is
that off-topic for this newsgroup?]

lol. That's true. However, in my recent biochemistry course, the girl next
to me had 16 colored pens and the guy on the side had one of those multicolor
cartridge pencils with at least 8 colors. It seems like a feature that a lot
of college/graduate students (like myself) would find useful. I'm fairly
content with 8 pen colors and 4 highlighters at the moment, but more and
easier selection would be lovely ;-)
