More User Fields

Hi,

Has anyone setup templates that use more User Fields than
what comes with the initial Word installation? I'm
looking to try and pull a user's Department Name, Title,
Phone Number and Fax Number. I can pull their Name, and
Address but the other fields don't exist.

Is is possible to add these fields as part of Word or is
there a way to link to the Outlook Contact list and pull
the information if the user enters it into the address
book.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

For some idiotic reason the programmers of Office at
Microsoft don't think merging all fields availabe might be
important, EVEN JOB TITLE which is featured right up front
in OUTLOOK!

And worse, they won't fix it!

You do get Job_title if you initiate your merge from Outlook.

FWIW, I agree that it's frustrating that you don't get this and other items
using the other mechanisms for using contact data as a data source, even the
standard mechanism provided in the Mail Merge Wizard. But I have to say I
don't see this changing any time soon.

In Outlook 2000 or later, the method that provides the most Outlook contact
fields to Word is to open Outlook, select a Contacts folder, and use Outlook
Tools|Mail Merge to initiate the merge. This technique basically creates an
intermediate .doc file containing the data then launches Word.
