MOSS and SQL 2005 (in conjunction with Project and Portfolio Server)

Apparently there is a bug that prevents a full SQL Server 2005 install
to run on the same server as SharePoint Server and anything based on
SharePoint. It seems the immediate fix if you wish to run Project,
Portfolio, WSS, and MOSS on the same server is to use the application
version of SQL that ships with Project.

If the application version of SQL that ships with Project is used (say
for a test environment), does anyone know of any resulting loss of
functionality within Portfolio, Project, WSS, or MOSS compared to
using the full version of SQL 2005?

Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,
Do you have an further details on the issue with SQL? I have a system with
all everything except MOSS and it works ok.

Regarding the installation of project, it installs with SQLExpress. I think
you get OLAP with this, but not reporting services. I couldn't comment
regarding the other apps, but certainly WSS2.0 installed with a seperate and
upgraded version of MSDE to that of Project Server. If this is anything
other than a demo system then I would be vary wary of what you are doing.
