MOSS Synchronization - recurring appointments

I have created an Outlook 2007 add-in to perform automatic synchronization
with a MOSS calendar. I have one issue concerning recurring appointments.
If I work with SharePoint Lists offline (i.e. connected to Exchange but not
connected to MOSS) and delete an occurrence of the appointment sequence by
deleting an appointment in the default Outlook calendar, the corresponding
synchronized entry in the the SharePoint Lists calendar, displayed in
Outlook, deletes the entry too (as intended).

However, when I connect to the MOSS calendar, the appointment is added back.

But if I delete the entry in the SharePoint Lists calendar (not the
appointment in the default Outlook calendar) it does delete the entry in the
MOSS calendar.

When I work offline again from MOSS, the appointment entries I deleted don't
show up. But do when I re-connect. So the deletion does seem to be
recognized offline in the SharePoint Lists.pst.

The behaviour in the SharePoint Lists.pst seems to be working as I would
like it to but this isn't synchronizing with MOSS.

The only difference I can see is that if I do the deletion of the entry from
the SharePoint Lists calendar I am prompted to specify whether I wish to
delete this occurrence or the entire sequence. I am prompted to do this too
if I delete from the default Outlook calendar but this is not impacting on
the MOSS calendar.

I know that there is an Exception object raised if an appointment in a
recurring series is deleted, is this something I need to catch in some way to
get the appointment to be deleted from MOSS and not just the SharePoint
Lists.pst?

Any help would be gratefully received.
