Most Recently Used List

I the C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application
Data\Microsoft\Office\Recent directory, a list of all
documents recently opened is stored.

This list is basically a bunch of .LNK files containing
shortcut information to the actual files opened.

Can anybody explain why this information is recorded and
more importantly how and when it is overwritten?
I have some old files in this list, but there appears to
be no logic as to how and when the old .LNK's are removed.

Kenny,
Kenny,
This is just a convenience item. The docs show up under
Start - Documents as just a quick access tool to your most
recent docsuments. I can't find a way to tailor it but you
can clear the docs by going to Start - Settings - Task Bar
& start Menu - Advanced - Clear

If you are using Windows XP, right click on Start and select Properties.
On the Start Menu tab, click Customize and then select the Advance tab.
At the bottom, there is a section on Recent Documents. You can clear the
list and also clear the check box to maintain a recent document list.
