mouse buttons

Am using imac desktop
running 10.4.8 ox software
what an I do with the 2 side buttons-
have investigated the preference re mouse-
but seems v limited what I can ascribe to them-
I just kn ow when I log on in teh morning sggestions will be there-
much appreciated

Hi Jay:

I would leave them at the defaults until you get used to them.

If you have a five-button mouse:

* I use Buttons 1 and 2 for left and right-click.
* I use the two side buttons for "Forward" and "Back".
* I set the scroll-wheel for scrolling!
* The scroll-click I can't make up my mind about. I've always assigned it
to auto-scroll (continuous scrolling) in the past. But these days I never
use continuous scrolling, so I am experimenting with "Magnify", which I am
using increasingly often since they keep printing web pages in small fuzzy
letters :)
