Mouse click makes the screen jump to previous point before scrolls

Hello,
After I scroll down several pages, I want to select a certain point. So I
click the point with mouse, but the screen jumps back to the previous screen
before scrolls. This really annoys me. How can I fix this issue? Please help.
This happens most of the times, but not all the time. That makes me feel
dumber.

That sounds like a problem with the touchpad driver. Try testing with a USB
mouse plugged in

Thank you for your reply, but it happens on my desktop, where I have
Microsoft wireless keyboard and wireless mouse installed. Do you think there
are some conflicts between Microsoft wireless mouse and Word 2007?
Thanks.

I don't think so as I use the Laser 6000 desktop without any problems.
Usually this happens when scrolling away from the insertion point and then
clicking one on the keyboard before the insertion point has been created at
the current view. I take it that there are no other wireless keyboards in
close proximity that may be interfering?
