Reference KB article #Q281851 which relates to Excel rather than Outlook.
We have a subset of users who will periodically receive a cursor that
flashes back and forth between a pointer and an hourglass in Outlook 2003.
If the user selects another application from the task bar the problem goes
away. Upon switching back to Outlook 2003 the problem may or may not have
gone away, but it always comes back eventually.
We can't find anything in common with the users who are having the problem
versus those that are not.
I tried reinstalling Office 2003 which did not help. I checked our switches
to see if all of the PCs were on the same switch in case it was going bad
(they're not). We can't think of anything that changed with the system at
the time this problem began happening (almost a week ago).
Can anyone think of a cause or a reason for this flickering to occur? I'd
be greatful for any assistance.
