Mouse going haywire-after latest microsoft update?

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

When in Excel or Entourage, mouse has developed mind of its own. Pull down column features in Excel are especially problematic. Anyone have suggestions as to what's causing this?
