Mouse left click problems

When I click to change between slides whilst creating a presentation, it
merely highlights them instead of switching between them. I must hold down
control and click to switch slides, but even then it still highlights it and
whichever slide I was on previously. I'm using a windows machine with the
latest version of PPT.

Not sure what you're clicking. I'm assuming you're seeing something different
than usual. You can use the vertical scrollbar to go to the next slide while
creating. There are also doublle up and down arrows at the bottom of the
scroll bar. If no object is selected, you can use the down arrow or Page Down
key. I often click the slide I want in the left-hand pane. You're
experiencing something different?

I am also experiencing the mouse-click problem in Presenter. A left
mouse click does not advance the page.

It only occurs prior to a screen containing a link to an external mpg
video file.

Selecting a key on the keyboard (space bar, down arrow) and using the
mouse scroll wheel works fine in advancing pages.

None of this is a big deal for me, but we are delivering the ppt to a
wide audience and may have different levels of experience in dealing
with these types of problems.

Are you in presenter view?

I also had the problem in Presenter view where the left mouse button
will not advance the pages. This problem only occurs on pages prior
to a link to a video mpg file.

The keyboard navigation and mouse wheel scroll bar advance the pages
as expected, so the problem is workable, but creates an issue that
needs to be addressed when distributing to a wide audience.
