Mouse not working in Word

Having problems with a pc where the mouse is not able to select text in word
or move the cursor location. Also, unable to open a word document by double
clicking on it in explorer, need to open word first, then do a file open.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling
word. I haven't seen this problem with the other Office products
however I don't use the other office 2007 products often.
